Legal Assistant
Fast paced law office specializing in Personal Injury seeks a candidate to fill an available position for a full time Legal Assistant in our Litigation department. Duties/Description of Job:
Support litigation team, which includes litigation attorneys and litigation paralegal by ensuring that cases are up to date with scheduling events, litigation and supportive documents are saved and up to date in file, and calendar is up to date.
- Supporting 2 Litigation attorneys and 1 Litigation Paralegal
- Assisting the Litigation Paralegal with daily duties, primarily scheduling and docketing
- Format, proofread, and finalize detailed correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents
- Filing documents in state and federal courts
- Calendaring case deadlines, hearings, meetings, and other events
- Researching court rules and requirements
- Organizing files and documents
- Providing case status updates to clients
- Preparing letters, memos, etc.
- Performing other duties as needed
ADDITIONAL NOTES
- Bilingual candidate is a plus (English/Spanish)
- Knowledge of Needles case management system is a plus
- Personal injury law: 1 year minimum preferred
Pre-Litigation Personal Injury Paralegal
Job Description
Fast-paced law office specializing in Personal Injury seeks a candidate to fill an available position for a full-time Personal Injury Paralegal. We are looking for an outstanding candidate with a working knowledge of the claims process, preparation of demands and knowledge of personal injury law in Colorado. Must be able to communicate clearly with the clients, able to draft professional letters and learn new programs quickly. Needles experience a plus. We are excited to add a new member to our dynamic team!
Paralegal Job Duties / Responsibilities:
- Create relationships with clients and guide them through the case process
- Work with clients and medical providers regarding medical treatment
- Work with attorneys to develop demand letters and research damages
- Utilize existing files and a variety of other research resources to develop information for pending cases
Qualifications/Skills:
- A minimum of three years’ experience as a personal injury paralegal (working knowledge of the claims process, preparation of demands and personal injury law in Colorado)
- Excellent communication skills (fluent in written and spoken English)
- Excellent People Skills: able to deal empathetically with clients who are injured and scared, while still maintaining professionalism. Must be aware of and sensitive to cultural differences. Must be able to work as a team.
- Professional Writing Skills: able to draft professional letters that are free of grammar and spelling mistakes.
- Competent Computer Skills: able to learn new programs quickly and accurately. Needles experience is a plus.
- Strong Critical Thinking Skills: able to problem solve, follow instructions, be creative, use discretion, ask questions when necessary and be detail oriented.
- Ability to speak and write Spanish a plus.

Junior Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal
Job Description
Fast paced boutique personal injury firm is currently seeking a Junior Litigation Paralegal to work with our Litigation team. In this role, you will be responsible for proactively assisting attorneys and co-workers throughout the litigation process including trial preparation and final settlement. Your duties will include, but not limited to, document production, organizing, and indexing documents, and assisting during depositions and trials.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage litigation calendar, scheduling depositions, mediations, trials and all court deadlines
- Conduct pre-claim investigation, legal research and initial case assessments
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, appellate documents, expert disclosures, complaints, discovery requests, and correspondence
- E-file documents with the court
- Maintain case file, including indexing medical records, preparing privilege logs, maintain pleadings and discovery indexes, and following up on outstanding matters.
- Organizing exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices and prepare everything for trial
- Gathering relevant information from a variety of sources
- Liaise between client, trial teams and internal/external third parties
- Help with Voir Dire, jury selection and witness preparation
- Prepare for settlement by gathering records and requesting reductions from providers
- Collaborate with co-workers and other departments, including providing training and support as required

Requirements
- 1-2 years’ experience in personal injury litigation
- Self-starter who is eager to learn
- Excellent organizational, communication, writing, and research skills along with strong attention to detail
- Trial and mediation preparation experience
- Knowledge of Colorado state and federal statutes, rules, and procedures
- Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, and litigation documentation preferred
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Competent Computer Skills: able to learn new programs and legal platforms quickly and accurately
- Education: High school or equivalent
- Paralegal certificate preferred
- Spanish speaking preferred
Job Type: Full-time in office
Salary: $40,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
