Who pays the medical bills after a car accident?

Experienced Personal Injury Lawyers

The answer to this depends mostly on the type of insurance coverage that you have. If you have medical payments coverage (“med-pay”) on your auto insurance policy, it will pay for your medical treatment up to the limits of the coverage. If you don’t have med-pay coverage or you use up what you have, your health insurance may cover some or all of your medical bills—although the health insurance company likely will ask the auto insurer to reimburse them from your settlement what the health insurer paid for your medical bills.

If you don’t have medical payments coverage or health insurance, this is not the end of the road. The Law Offices of Dianne L. Sawaya, LLC will work with our network of medical specialists to get you treated and arrange to pay the medical bills at the end of your case. This can be a very complicated process—one that you cannot do on your own. Call us today so that we can help you receive the medical treatment you need – – no matter your insurance coverage.
