This is a true story, one that just happened.

Our client was involved in a car accident. He was driving southbound in the far right lane on Broadway in Denver, when someone ran a red light and plowed into the right side of his car. Our client was pretty banged up – getting tossed around, even with his seat belt on, resulted in back injuries, a trip to the emergency room and later, medical treatment and rehabilitation therapy.

So our client tried to handle his case himself. He finished treating with the doctor and the rehabilitation therapist, and put in a call to the other driver’s insurance company. He explained the accident, presented the medical bills that came to more than he had expected, and waited for the check.

And waited.

In the meantime, the insurance company gave him a big runaround, asked for piles of paperwork and documentation, delayed some more and finally made him an offer of $6,000. Our client was outraged. The medical bills were way more than that, and besides, he had to take time off from work at no pay and was going to have to live with intermittent pain for a long time.

That’s when he came to The Law Offices of Dianne Sawaya. Our Colorado car accident attorneys put together a strong case for him, and got our client a much better settlement – nearly $80,000.

I don’t relate this story to talk about settlements we may or may not be able to get in any particular case. That’s too difficult to predict. What I do want to relate is that in my 30-plus years as an attorney, I’ve almost never seen an instance where you don’t need an attorney on your side. Insurance companies are not your friend. They don’t have your best interests in mind – they have their own bottom lines in mind.

We know how to work with insurance companies to make them give you a fair and reasonable settlement for your injuries. If you’d like to know more, give me a call at (303) 758-4777 or email me at DLS@dlslawfirm.com. And don’t forget – we don’t get paid unless you get paid.
