In talking with other attorneys here and around the country, they’re echoing what we’re seeing here in Denver. Insurers are dragging their feet on paperwork, not returning phone calls quite as timely as they probably should, and being difficult when negotiating settlements.

It makes sense. The slower an insurer pay claims, the less they’ll wind up paying in a year’s time – which makes their bottom line look better.

It’s also a negotiating tool and maybe even a strategic move on the insurers’ part. They’re betting that if the insurer can drag the case out long enough clients will pressure attorneys to settle cases for less money. As a strategy move, insurers may be trying to weed out small law firms or solo lawyers by betting – correctly, sad to say – that many lawyers don’t have the financial staying power to fight insurance companies through their games.

That’s why you need a financially strong law firm like The Law Offices of Dianne Sawaya. We will battle insurers to get the compensation you deserve. Sometimes that means filing a lawsuit if an insurer refuses to budge off an inadequate offer. Sometimes it means filing a bad faith lawsuit against insurer who use unethical business tactics that harm only you.

In any event, insurance companies know we’re here to stay and will represent our clients to the finish. And we won’t hesitate to sue them, if that’s what it takes to make them do right by our clients. In fact, we have filed a number of lawsuits in the past few months and will be in court as soon as next week.

So even though the economy is tough, you can be certain that we’re still here doing what we’ve been doing for years – standing up for your rights.
