After many years of working with clients who’ve had car accidents, we’ve put together a kit of resources that you can keep in your vehicle’s glove box. We call it the DLS Law SmartKit.

The SmartKit contains first aid supplies and bandages, an emergency display banner to notify other drivers of the accident, and a flashlight and battery. There also are everyday items you might use, such as a tire gauge and a pocket-size road atlas. All of this comes in a container that will fit perfectly into your glove box or storage bin.

It’s also helpful to write down some basic information right away. Memories can fade and if you’re injured, having someone note certain facts will help you later. Be sure to get the name and contact information of the other driver, their insurance information, the name of the police officer who investigates, and a few basic facts about how the accident happened.

I hope you never need to use the kit, but I’d like you to have one just the same. Stop by the office and one of us will set you up with a SmartKit. Maybe there’s someone you know who would like one, too – a friend, neighbor or perhaps someone in your own family.

If you can’t make it in right away but still would like a SmartKit, call me (303) 758-4777 or drop me an email at DLS@dlslawfirm.com.
