On August 15, 2015, four young adults in a BMW got in a car accident near U.S. 285 and Turkey Creek Road. The driver lost control of the car and went to the right off of the road and rolled multiple times down an embankment. The driver was sent to the hospital with serious injuries. The other three passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.
It has not be officially announced yet if there were drugs or alcohol involved or if the passengers were wearing their seatbelt, but drivers from a nearby car think that the passengers were not following safety regulations in regard to these topics. A witness says that they saw the car drive off the road in an unexpected manner. The witness says that they stopped to check on the car, but they could not find the vehicle. It was later discovered by police that the vehicle had rolled a great distance off of the road before coming to a halt. The passengers were all found outside of the vehicle. This was likely because they were not wearing seatbelts, as the police stated that occupants of cars who don’t wear seatbelts are very often thrown from a vehicle while it is rolling.
