Mother and daughter were driving on an icy, snow-packed road when a commercial truck, speeding in unsafe conditions, lost control and collided with the side of their vehicle. The accident caused significant injuries to the daughter, including internal bleeding, a fractured back and multiple fractures in her ankle.  After multiple surgeries and extensive physical therapy, she found herself unable to participate in the athletic sports she once loved, leading to the loss of her athletic scholarship. When the insurance company refused to cooperate in reaching a fair settlement, Dianne explained that she would take them to court. With the threat of losing in court, the insurance company finally settled for $1.6 million.
