What part of the legal process are you most passionate about? Why?
I am most passionate about helping to alleviate stress by ensuring the client feels well taken care of. Most of the time when someone needs representation by an attorney it is because they are in a less than ideal situation. In personal injury cases, the client is in pain, possibly out of work, and has increased financial stressors. It is rewarding to know that my work contributes to allowing the client to focus on healing and recovering while trusting that their case is being managed well.
What drew you to the legal profession?
I grew up watching my father help injured people by giving them personalized attention through his law practice. Seeing this from a young age inspired me to go to law school and pursue doing the “good work.” I have always been a big supporter of compassionately pursuing justice for those in need.
What aspects of your job do you most value?
I value helping people and making them feel heard.
Outside of the office, what are you passionate about/involved in?
I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family, gardening, live music, ethnic food, reading, museums, riding my bicycle, doing puzzles, going to escape rooms, and supporting my community through several awesome organizations.
EKAR Farm Community Garden – My children and I love helping the garden throughout the year to harvest food for local food banks.
Rocky Mountain Feline Foster Rescue – I volunteer to help the rescue with their fundraising events.
Arapahoe County Human Services (Child Welfare Division) – I used to be a child welfare social worker and continue to support my previous employer by assisting with a donation program for foster children during the holiday season.
Colorado LGBT Bar Association & Colorado Women’s Bar Association – Student member
Lasagna Love – I make 1-2 lasagnas a month with my children, and we deliver to a local family in need of a hot meal.
Colorado 99’s – I am a student pilot and member of the Colorado 99’s which is a global aviation organization for female pilots.
Rocky Mountain Supper Club – I founded a supper club and host cookbook club get togethers where we try new recipes from a featured cookbook once a month and share them potluck style.
What are your favorite places to grab a meal in your community?
A few of my favorites are Viale, Barolo Grill, Eddie V’s, Tacos El Metate, SOL Mexican Cocina, Park Burger (their French fries are amazing) and 9Thai. I am also addicted to Crumbl cookies and Snowl milk tea taiyaki with nutella.
Are you married? Do you have children? If so, what are their ages?
I am married and have two sons and a stepdaughter. My sons are 9 and 6 years old and my stepdaughter is four. I also have fur babies – a mini dachshund (Poudre) and three cats (Suki, Miko and Beans).
