Keeping Your Medical Records Private

Do you have to share your whole medical history with an insurance company? Not if you have the Law Offices of Dianne Sawaya on your side.

The other party’s insurance company does, in fact, have a right to your medical records. But the only part of your medical record that a Denver auto accident attorney at the Law Offices of Dianne Sawaya will let them have is what’s relevant to the injuries you suffered in the accident.

So if you have a broken arm and a neck injury, you have to disclose previous medical treatment you received to those areas of your body. This is so the insurance company can see if any of your current injuries are related to injuries you incurred before the accident.

But that doesn’t always stop insurance companies. As a Denver personal injury attorney, I represented a client whose surgeon left a sponge inside her body during an operation. My client had given the doctor’s insurance company a blanket release. When it came time to negotiate with the insurance company, they brought up a lung infection my client had when she was six weeks old.

That’s why you need a smart, aggressive Denver car accident lawyer from the Law Offices of Dianne Sawaya. We don’t just turn your medical records over to an insurer. We carefully review your records and give them only the ones that are absolutely necessary.

We don’t let insurance companies get away with their games. Not only will we keep any medical care unrelated to your accident private, but we’ll make the insurer pay you every penny you’re entitled to for your injuries.

If you’ve been hurt in an accident, give me a call at (303) 758-4777, email me at DLS@dlslawfirm.com or visit our website at www.dlslawfirm.com for more information. Let’s talk about your case. There’s no cost or obligation.

We’ll help you get the money you and your family deserve for the injuries you’ve suffered. And remember: If we take your case, we don’t get paid unless you get paid.
